Depending on your hair type, brushing dry prior to washing makes for a cleaner cleanse and helps to loosen the kinds of things you want to get rid of: dirt, skin, sweat, sebum, and product buildup.

Thoroughly wet hair and work The Ritual Shampoo —just enough to cover your scalp — through strands and rinse. If desired, repeat with a second shampoo for a two-step ritual. The first wash breaks down oils and buildup; the second rinses them out and creates a richer lather.
